Metrum Ensemble is a music group playing classical music from a wide range of contemporary, modern, post-modern and classic genres. I have been asked to design their visual identity and website which reflects their music philosophy: modern and classical in the same time, and mostly represent the notion of music.
I thought, instead of creating what usually we can see in music identities which is using photo portraits of the musicians, I approached the task from a typographical-graphical angle. Their logo is the key element, which is a variable, always changing form. I created a custom lettering for the logo, which is a metric font in order to resonate the word: “metrum” and reflect the rhythm of musical notations. The website is a responsive CMS site with interactive buttons, so it works on mobile phones and desktop computers. The site development and design is by me.
